About Marilyn

Marilyn I. Bernard, owner of Dental Auxiliary Resources, Inc has over 30 years of experience in the dental hygiene profession. After graduating from Loyola of the South, she spent five years in private practice. She then worked for the City of New Orleans as a Dental Hygienist, as well as Supervisor of Operations and Dental Staff at a satellite clinic.

For nearly 15 years, she was Clinic Coordinator for the Handicapped Children’s Dental Clinic at Children’s Hospital, which was administrated by the state of Louisiana. In addition to treating disabled patients, Ms. Bernard served as Clinic Coordinator and as a liaison between the state of Louisiana, Children’s Hospital and LSU School of Dentistry.

She was a gratis faculty member of LSU School of Dentistry from 1976-1990 and served as Clinical Instructor for second-year Dental Hygiene students, rotating at Children's Hospital. A component of this position included, presenting a yearly lecture to the students on the treatment of disabled patients.

Ms. Bernard was vice president of NODHA from 1991-1993 and she also served as Legislative Chair to LDHA for 2 years. She served as Chairperson for the Dental Hygiene Advisory Committee of LSU School of Dentistry from 1989-2003. She continues to serve on this committee. She presents a yearly lecture to the graduating dental hygiene class of LSU School of Dentistry located in New Orleans on the "Interview process". She also shares her business acumen with the satellite class located in Lafayette via the distance learning format.

Dental Auxiliary Resources has been in business since 1990. Ms. Bernard’s professional understanding of the specific needs of both the dental auxiliaries and the offices in which they are placed is one of the strengths of her business.

About Sandi
Sandi E. Elfer graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross College where she earned a B.A. in Social Science. Sandi has worked with Dental Auxiliary Resources, Inc for over 10 years. Her position with DAR is office manager/schedule coordinator. Sandi is the first contact person who responds to inquiries. Marilyn and Sandi have a booth at the yearly New Orleans/LDA Dental Conference. Sandi frequently attends dental meetings with Marilyn around the country.
